How to avoid three most common affiliate mistakes

Choosing the wrong affiliate - In their rush to earn from affiliate marketing as fast as possible they tend to choose a wrong product, the kind of products that the program thinks is “on demand”. They choose the product that is in demand without actually considering if the product appeals to them. This is not a very wise move obviously.

Pick a product that appeals to you. Then do some research about that product to see if they are in demand. Promoting a product you are more passionate about is easier than promoting one for the sake of the earnings only.

Applying too many affiliate programs - Since affiliate programs are very easy to join, you might be tempted to join multiples of affiliate programs to try and maximize the earnings you will be getting. Besides you may think that there is nothing wrong and nothing to lose by being part of many affiliate programs.

However, joining multiple programs and attempting to promote them all at the same time will prevent you from concentrating on each one of them. The technique is to do it slowly but surely. There is really no need to rush into things, especially with affiliate marketing.

Not trying the product or using the service - As an affiliate, you main purpose is to effectively and convincingly promote a product or service and to find customers. It is difficult for you to do this when you yourself have not tried these things out. Thus, you will fail to promote and recommend them convincingly and you will also fail to create a desire in your customers to avail any of what you are offering.

Buy the product or service personally first before you sign up as an affiliate to see if it is really delivering what it promises. If you have done so, then you are one of the credible and living testaments aware of its advantages and disadvantages.

How to become a good decision maker

Here are a few pointers on how you can become a good decision maker.

Consider Facts - Any decision you make must be based on facts that have been verified and authenticated so that your decision is a rational one. Remember the acronym CARF, which means that you have “considered all relevant factors”.

Be Objective
- Do not be influenced by people in around you who may want you to rule in their favor. When people start working together, there is a tendency to form cliques. Each cliques will have its own way of doing things. As a decision maker, it is your duty to ensure that you remain apolitical and base your jugdement on your effective understanding of the situation.

Avoid “groupthink’ mentality - This is charaterised by situation where all the members of a group or team feel that they are invicible and whatever decision and action they take will not fail. Such a situation comes about when an organisation has been relatively successful in most of its endeavours and there is an overall sense of complacency. You will notice the effect of a “groupthink” mentality when you are at meetings or group discussions and everyone seems to agree with everyone else.

Take Action - To be an excellent decision maker, you must also be the kind of person who takes action. Once you have made a decision, you must give yourself a timeline for its implementation.

Learn From Failure - There will be times when things do not quite turn out the way you wanted. There is no guaranteed success formula in decisison making. Even if you have made wrong decision, what makes you an effective individual is your ability to assess the damage and come up with a solution to put things right.

How to choosing the right price for your ebook

Choosing the right price for your ebook is one of the most critical parts of the marketing process. The first rule of pricing ebooks is to never underprice. Determine the highest price your audience can afford, and then if you find your book isn’t selling, you can always reduce the price. Before you take that step, make sure you are promoting your book like crazy on the Internet and on websites. The price should be aimed at bringing in profits, but you should never forget that price is one of the factors that people use in judging the value of your ebook before they buy it. So always start with the highest price, and then launch a mega-marketing campaign.

There are many different formulas and methods for determining the correct price for your ebook begin with honing in on your ultimate goals.

Decide if your goal is to get wide distribution and maximum exposure. This goal is aimed at drawing customers to your business or service, or to establishing the credibility of your reputation. If this is your main goal, you should aim to keep your price on the low side. Some authors have even priced their ebooks at a profit loss to draw a high number of new ustomers. The key is to find a price that maximizes your profits and the number of books you sell.

After you figure out your goal, you must figure out what your audience’s need is for your ebook. For example, does your ebook solve a particular problem? If it does, and solves it in a way that hasn’t been written about in one hundred other ebooks, you will be able to achieve high sales at a high price. If your book solves a problem or answers questions in a new and unique way, you should price your book as high as you can go. You will achieve larger profits this way, but bring in fewer customers.
